building belonging through story
A citywide storytelling initiative that gathers, elevates and preserves community voices.
The CityStory Project invites residents, neighbors, artists, entrepreneurs, students, elders and visitors to share the moments and memories that shape a place. Through community activations and accessible story collection, we turn lived experience into a shared archive and a platform for narrative change.
The CityStory Project builds connection, belonging and local pride through real stories from real people.

what it is
A community-powered storytelling program designed to capture the everyday experiences that often go unheard.
We collect stories through pop-up “story corners,” partner activations, interviews and digital submissions – then curate and share them across media formats that meet people where they are.
- A public-facing invitation to contribute a personal story, reflection or memory; and
- A community archive that strengthens civic connection and preserves local history through the voices of the people who live it.

why it matters
When communities can see themselves in the stories being told, trust grows and belonging deepens.
CityStory supports healthier, more connected communities by:
- Creating opportunities for residents to participate in storytelling – not just consume it.
- Elevating voices historically excluded from mainstream narratives.
- Strengthening cross-cultural and intergenerational understanding.
- Celebrating neighborhood identity and shared civic life.
- Preserving local history in ways that are accessible and community-owned.
